I love those sort of books. I picked up a very nice book on copper
roofing and flashing, similar vintage, on eBay a few years back.
Excellent book, and it cost less than 20% of what the spamm...er....OP
is asking.

How do you find the stuff?
I confess to ignoring eBay. Do you have to browse for items or can it notify
you based on criteria?

Ignore eBay...? The words appear to be English, but I'm sure that I'm
in the dark as to the thought process.
If you so configure, eBay will email you when items matching your
criteria show up. I am usually tracking a bunch of auctions at any
given moment, half of them are for pricing research, half as bookmarks
for further research and another half hoping for a bargain.
Today I drove 30 miles to pick up a particular mailbox. I'd located
it on the internet, priced it on the net and eBay, found a good price
on eBay from a guy in my area, checked his web site and saw he had a
bricks and mortar store, so there I went. It probably wasn't worth my
time and gas to drive there, but I wanted to see the thing live, and I
felt like taking a drive.
I know a fair number of people that started as a "real" store then
started dabbling with eBay to see if it would help them make money.
One shut down their storefront antique furniture business and now sell
exclusively on eBay. No more hanging around the store hoping someone
will drop in.
eBay is simple, even a Mensan....errrr....caveman can do it. ;)
