Thinking about what people said, I think you are missing the point. To
make it in Architecture (or any kind of design) you must be able to
present your ideas visually and in writing. You can learn to do both
in a year of CAD courses, a sketching course and taking a lot of walking
tours. Get around and sketch details you se around you. Learn to
sketch different kinds of massing. Kepp a notebook about your
impressions. Don't worry about quality of presentation until you've
done it a while Read online and in libraries about various materials,
about structures and about built solutions to various kinds of
environmental and social issues.
Then you can come out with a portfolio and be able to decribe it as
well. Perhaps you can support yourself on a part time job while you get
it together. Or if you already have some skills, you might work a year
or two in an architectural firm.
