It is most uncommon. I cannot imagine a serious contractor allowing
you to supply anything or do anything on a job. I cannot imagine a
serious contractor getting into a situation where it is not crystal
clear who pays for "the usual delays".
My counsel would be !) settle up to date with this guy, bending over
backwards to be fair and then 2) negotiate a contract using a
construction lawyer.
