Interesting thought. [g]

Of course. How long does it take you to grind the raised lettering
off of your wrenches? It must drive you crazy to take a shower and
see that damned DELTA on the shower body. Staring at the car
manufacturer's name/logo on your steering wheel must send you through
the roof.

Everything you own has a manufacturer's mark somewhere and many items
have more than a few. The fact that you can tune out some of them and
not others is a bit odd. I also don't understand why you'd limit the
available pool of merchandise over such an odd peccadillo. To each
his own.

not the same comparison. My tools are not on display for everyone who
drives by.

and for the delta, well I wouldn't piss on a delta. mine are all peerless.

it's not about what _I_ see, it's about advertising for other people for
free.

There is no mechanism for a company to pay every single purchaser/
customer for "advertising space" of a logo, nor to have an "opt in"
program for logos and such. I can understand the OP's position about
a sign being left on his property even though it is not an uncommon
practice - the contractor's work usually looks a helluva lot better
when it's completed than when it's under construction, so that is
obviously the best time to advertise the quality of the work. But my
question for you, what do you think the value of the advertising space
of a logo on your car is worth? I mean it's one of millions and the
space is negligible - how much would you want them to pay you to make
it worth your while? Since the company presumably doesn't mint their
own money, where do you think that money would come from? Right -
from everybody that buys from them - in other words, you. So, in a
nutshell, you are already getting paid for that advertising by not
paying for that advertising when you buy the product/service.

But, like I said, to each his own.
