Won't get to the house itself yet. Don't hardly seem big enough tract to
support such a home, a well, and septic system with an effluent field. The
well has to surface someplace and be controlled by an electrical switch
somewhere between the pump and the pressure tank. All this going to be
buried someplace, or occupy the garage space running buried wires all the
way back to the pump? You going to run standard 90 degree corners in PVC
conduit/metal conduit, or use flexible underground cables for power for the
pump? Same question for the house/garage source power, or is it fed
overhead directly? Are there any guidelines or restrictions from the local
housing association in your area? What are the setback boundaries for
building on your property? If in a heavily wooded area, are you prepared to
cut out trees to create a fireblock zone around the house/garage including
the driveway? What is the general prevailing direction of the wind in
reference to the effluent field and the house? What type septic system are
you using? Will the septic tank be easily accessible for pumping if the
situation arises? Is the general fall of the land toward the house,
requiring diversion of runoff water by building up the lawn, or worse, a
drainage ditch? Is the facility in your area able to issue a permit for a
septic system for your specific property? Has the soil been tested for both
support of the home's foundation, and supporting an effluent field? Is the
house going to face the street, or the general prevailing wind, or have its
back to the prevailing wind? Has your water supply been tested? Are you
prepared to purchase a 1000 gallon or more holding tank for your water if
the tests say its probably a necessity, and another supply pump? Is there a
drainage ditch at the road shoulder bounding your property? Are you
required to have culvert there when pouring the driveway, or is a sunken
apron sufficient per the governing agent regarding roads? Have you done all
your homework?
