Recently I had new Double Glazing Units fitted along with new Plastic
Cladding. The Double Glazing was installed by a specialist company and
the Cladding by a specialist roofing/cladding contractor.

On the exterior there were Boards(Roughly 5'x5'), made from 1/4 - 1/2"
compressed composite material, which were removed and replaced with
cladding. Since then we have suffered from extreme noise from traffic
passing on a nearby road. I had thought initially that the problem lay
with the DG units but have now come to the conclusion that it has been
the removal of the boards that have caused the noise problem.

I now realise it was a mistake to replace the Boards with Plastic
Cladding but the Contractor did not advise me to fit anything under the
Cladding which replaced the Boards. I now realise the Boards had very
effective noise reduction qualities but that's in the past and I now
must move on.

I am looking for a suitable material to fill a 75mm space which is
behind(between) Exterior Plastic Cladding and Interior Plasterboard
(which has a Tinfoil finish on the side which faces out to the
Cladding).

I need a product that will give good SOUND INSULATION. I have good
access to the spaces as the Cladding can be removed for the task.
Can anyone suggest a suitable product that can be used that would be
suitable for this project and that will give good NOISE Insulation? If
it also gave some Heat insulation that would also be useful.
Hoping you can help.
