New home being built. what is the best way to go? house will be tyvek
wrapped and plan to use 1/2" foam and vinyl siding.
Wall construction2x6 walls with R-21.
Another question. before sheet rock goes on, would a vapor retarded be
a positive or just not needed? Since the interior of the house will be
properly ventilated with a regulated fresh air system.
1. no rigid foam board
2. square edge foam board
3. T&G foam board
4. foil faced foam board
taped joints or no tape?
Is breathing a concern? Is the plywood sheathing negatively
effected?
comfort is the goal, no so much cost. money effectiveness is not a
major factor. don't mind if it takes 20years to pay back. (have
reasons)The home is over 4,000sf.
Just looking for idea and thoughts.
Thanks.
