I live in a rural area. I have a 500' fence. My driveway is on the outside
of this fence thus no gate or auto gate.....
I have a friend that installed a solar opener......inexpensive. For a
swinging gate. No slider.......Rental agencies have slider types as well as
industrial business application......
Sorry, many know many things, many know little about many things.
Many do not have much experience with gate openers....
Look on the internet.......Gate opener options.....

Chain sliders when it fails you are stuck a bit, a swing unit might
only be removing a pin to manualy operate it and relock it. I think a
swing unit could be cheaper and less complicated, just a guess.

One would hope that even a chain unit would have an emergency
disconnect (just like garage door openers...) to cover the probablity
that at some point there will be a power failure!

of course that disconnect may be awkward to get at, as a security
measure! <bg>

This is the kind of info needed. The dealer won't bring this up unless you
ask. Thanks
