Hi All,

What is the best saw on a remote job sight (but with generator if power
cut is most practical) for cutting rafter bird's mouth cuts?

Thanks

Stephen

Cut with circular saw just to the intersection of the lines. Finish with
hand saw.

Cut with circular saw set at maximum depth just to the intersection of
the lines. Finish with hand saw.

If you have alot of experience with a circular saw, that's all you need.

Cut the marked birdmouth to intersection both ways, don't go beyond the
marks at intersection.
Open the guard with one hand and hold the saw upside down with blade pointed
away from you. Carefully finish the cut, without going beyond the boundary
of the marks for the birdmouth. You may have to turn the lumber over and
cut it blind.

If inexperienced, use a hand saw. Or, use some trial lumber to get it right
first.
