take the flashing and a piece of chalk on the roof, as well as a sawzall.
trace the inside of the ring with the chalk onto the roof shingles. remember
to keep it centered in between the rafters. This can be done by drilling a
probe hole from inside(center flashing on it). Cut thru the roofing shingles
and plywood about 1/2" outside the diameter of the chalk line. Next remove
the roofing nails in the area , at least as large as the flashing.Take the
flashing and apply a 50 year silicone(geocell) to the back side generously.
Slide the flashing into place, keep in mind the top half of the flashing
should be covered by shingles and the flashing should cover the bottom half
of shingles. Trim the shingles with snips to the configuration of the
flashing. Re drive all roofing nails into areas where removed. Silicone
connection of flange and roofing shingles.
