Can a gas valve be used for a HW heater drain?

The gas valve being IPS and the drain being a hose
fitting might lead to a problem for starters, you fucking
slaptard.

        Hey, as long as Stormy has duct tape, a little thing like
thread style or fitting size isn't going to bother him.

        And for the little issue of the gas valve being designed to
hold back 3 - 11 psi of pressure ( depending on type ), vs the 60 +
psi that would build up behind a leaking port on a DHW after it's
plugged as it normalizes to line pressure - what the hell, the
home-moaner probably has a bucket lying around ..... and insurance
.......
