In a weeks time,

14/2 Romex w/Grnd... went from $ 160 to $ 200 per 1000

Price of copper makes chillers look attractive ??

http://www.chillers.com/TonnageEquations.htm

If I put the numbers together right, 1 " PVC lines will carry 10 GPM

At a 10 degree delta, that would be 4 ton

Piped at ~ $ 0.30 / ft ( assuming sch 40, 450 PSI rating )

Maybe use some flexible 3/4 inch polyethylene pipe for zoned small
coils at 3/4 ", $ 0.14 / ft ( price from lowes, 100 PSI rating ) ? 5
GPM at 10 Delta = 2 tons

So, take any resi unit and add a plate-to-plate HX
http://www.flatplate.com/pdf/refrig/CHbrochure12-98.pdf

Easy control of SHR ( humidity ) via control of CHW supply temp.

Add another HX and some of that cheap pipe for DHW re-heat

Excellent thought about this cost problem.

If it wasn't used equipment being relocated I would definitely suggest such
a design. It sure would save a great deal of $$$$ / labor and high pressure
permits etc.

Plus unlimited zoning just by adding a couple of common
valves. Meaning most ductwork could be eliminated, saving material
cost, space, labor, balancing issues, etc.
