Exactly! The size of the equipment can not afford better efficiency than
10.1 EER. approx.

If efficiency is really what you're after, try a look at "ductless units."
Fujitsu has units from 5k btu/h all the way up to 24k btu/h and heat pumps -
the smaller sizes have SEER's under 20. Do a google on Fujitsu duct less,
but be ready, they're not cheap.

Give him a taste of the cost of the good stuff, and maybe he'll quit whining
about the cheap crap

I didn't see him whining about spending $100. He's asking a very reasonable
question. Are there more efficient units available in this size range and
how much do they cost? Why should that subject this guy to abuse????
