It's a Goodman. There's ALWAYS a question as to its "adequacy".

I agree. In my part of Canada, it would seem that most companies that
would sell anyone a Goodman should not be in the business for a
variety of reasons.

I was in the area of the local Amana/Goodman warehouse a couple of
weeks ago to pick up an evap coil for one of our installers who was
installing a furnace and found the existing Goodman evap coil was in
poor condition. While I waited there I saw various contractors come
and go to pick up their Goodman unit and leave. Most looked like
homeless losers driving rusted out pick-um up trucks. Did not see any
decent contractor come by and I know them all in this area.

Sears in our area sold Goodman for a year or two before realizing
their mistake.

How embarrassing to sell such junk.

It serves a purpose. Its cheap and there are a lot of people out there
that want cheap. IF you havent noticed, they have pretty good
warranties too. Not actually promoting it but it helps to know what's
out there.

Bubba, their warranties suck, and you know it. They may claim to have a
warranty, but when it comes time to actually using it, it is worthless. It
is mouth chatter to spew to a customer to make them think they are getting a
great piece of equipment rather than what it really is. Cabinets bend like
aluminum foil, heatexchangers don't last, they rust out in a year or two.
For whatever reason controls don't last, doorswitches just fall out, etc.
The ONLY benefit to Goodman is it is CHEAP, and ANYONE can buy them.

I hear a lot of that, but my Goodman A/C compressor has been going
strong for almost eight years, so I think one must at least say YMMV.

I can't help think there are people out there who denigrate them because
they hate being undersold.
