When he installs the new coil, make sure that he puts a proper trap in the
drain.

sounds like horseshit to me. how can a system have no juice & yet
still produce bubbles?

also sounds like the technician is making a hefty sales commission on
a part supposedly under warranty. oh wait, i know that answer....the
freon that has leaked out isnt covered, so his charge is for freon &
his labor which probably isnt included in the warranty

I recommend 2 things:
1) educate yourself on formicary corrosion- google it & look for the
pdf file by Carrier on this topic and
2) research this product :
http://www.cliplight.com/hvacr/products.php?pageID=Product_Details&productID=62&catID=27

I have been using it for 3 yrs now on everything from 2 ton machines
to 44 ton machines. Magically, the leaks stop.

The only negative aspect of this product is the technician is no
longer justified in raping the consumer, unless of course he's gifted
in the art of selling.
