I'm starting to get a strong feeling that it's broke.

The first trained, competent person you run into that has all

Well that's where I'm at, I'm just not in the mood to dish out a few
hundred bucks to watch him change one freakin $15 part that takes 5
min to do :( I hate that.

You DON'T pay him for that.

You pay him to know WHICH part to change, and WHERE it is :-)
IOW, exactly what you're trying to get for free here :-)

Seriously - from yuour posts, it's obvious, you have to call
someone, this is not your area of knowledge, and you don't have the
tools either.

You are right, this isn't my area of expertise, but I was hoping
someone might say "welp, short the Y to the G and if that doesn't
start the fan then your XXX is definitely dead" or something to that
effect. Guess not though :P
