Harman Stove question

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but it is the only NG
that I can find that is related to home heating. I just purchased a 85,000
BTU Harman Magi coal stoker stove to replace my oil burner. $4.00 Gal was my
tipping point to get away from oil and I hear LP and such is not much
better. Does anybody here have any experience with this type of stove? This
is my first coal burning stove. Had a wood stove in the past then replaced
it with oil. I know how to get it started from the instructions, But want to
find out if their is a better way of lighting it. Such as using a propane
torch. My preferred method if it would work. Also could you just pour a cup
or two of coal on the grates and not put any in the hopper to run the chill
out without filling the hopper for those chilly mornings that you don't want
the stove going all day? I only see doing that if torch method would get it
started. The reason I ask this is because I hear it is not good to leave
coal in the hopper when the stove is not in use. Right now it is too warm to
be lighting the stove to see what works. So I am trying to get as much info
as I can so when the time comes I will be ready. Plus I don't want to be
experimenting when it is 10 deg F. So I want to find someone that knows this
stove and has already tried every trick in the book and knows what works and
what does not work.

I've not heated with coal. However, try alt home repair; more people read
that group, and a few of them are courteous.

Did you google search? Also, please nose around www.lehmans.com because they
have a lot of non electric stuff.

Thanks for the advice. I will check that out. I did Google it but mostly
only came up with dealers. Found some online news groups but you have to
register with them. I don't like doing that because once they get your Email
address they sell it to spammers. So I just post through my isp using
outlook express.

Thanks that info was useful. Wish I did not have to register to post but
still enough to give me a good idea what I can and cant do.
