Maybe "spanked" would be a better term.

        The bigger the company, the more likely that shit goes on.

        I remember when I worked for JCI ( where every detail of every
branch, every minute of every day, is tightly controlled by HQ in
Milwaukee ), it was official management policy to lie to the
customers, and probably the biggest worst termination-level offense
you could do was to actually tell the customer the truth.

They got a situation like this in the school district I live in.
Overfired a boiler and cracked some bricks from what I understand...

This is remenicent of a post I made a month or so ago regarding their
water heaters, and their alleged warranty, one which they can't honour
because they don't pay enough to their contractors.
They couldn't get their contractor to drive to the job site 25 miles away.
So much for their seven year warranty.
