A Toronto radio station played the entire album last night, with sound
bites from Lennon.
He said it was originally called Doctor Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band,
but then they learned of the soft drink with the same name and tried
General Pepper, Major Pepper, and finally settled on Sgt.Pepper.
Amazing album when you consider it was done with 4 track recording.

        Yep. Abby Road, also.

        Hell, I have a 4-track 15 IPS reel to reel here, and INSANE
shitloads more equipment than they ever dreamed of - it simply didn't
exist on the planet. Wave-sampled synths & drum machines, MIDI,
unlimited hi-res digital sampling, unlimited computerized tracks of
same ...... CD burners .....

Why aren't I rich and famous ???? :-(

Oh, yeh - something to do with 'skill, talent, writing ability,
playing ability, performing ability, and general musicianship'. Damn.
