I have a ten year old Lennox Heating and Air Conditoner unit and for the
last few days the fan runs longer than it should when using the Heater.
The fan used to run a little longer after the heater went off but now
the fan runs a lot longer after the heater turns off.

It appears to only happen in the morning, which seems odd. It
malfunctions once or twice in the morning and then works correctly for
the rest of the day.

Is it time to call a repairman?

Sure. That's why you are paying for the extended warranty for your
system.

If you don't have the warranty, plan on paying around $800 for the
repair.

$800 sounds a little high to me.

From my research there is a switch that turns the fan off after the
heater turns off, it's purpose is to get more of the heat out of the
ducts. I've never needed an extended warranty, everyone I know that has
that says it wasn't worth it. The extended warranty cost more than the
repairs they had done under the extended warranty.

No, wait till it breaks completely!

That way you might pay higher overtime rates, have no heat and compromise
your comfort.
