Dual booting.
I equate that to people who are bisexual. For the love of god, either
you're gay or straight. Pick one.
One machine, one OS.
I know people who are going on five years without using Windows - most
aren't techies either; some are financial advisors, accountants and
brokers. They don't seem to have problems with the newest Openoffice
and Office's latest document format, the dreaded docx, or xlsx.

It all depends on your needs. If I didn't need Windows for anything I
wouldn't have it but dual booting gives me the best of both worlds.
As long as you keep your Os's on their own partition there's never a
problem with either nor is there any performance hit. It's kind of like
having RC & RH terminals as long as you know how to wire them you can make
your system work.

Ubuntu is actually a Swahili word for 'gay'.
Bet you didn't know that.

If you go both ways, you have twice the chance for a date.
