Hello all
I'm new to this forum so please bear with me. I recently purchased a
used Thermal zone Condenser and a-coil. Has anyone ever heard of them?
I think It is a 3 ton unit. The Model # is CA36K-IT. The condensers
Serial # is CA39906-27384. The A-coil Model # is CU36B-S. It's Serial
# is CU39907-64047. I got this from a neighbor who is replacing his
Natural gas equipment with a wood burner and a heat pump. He claims
that this AC unit was installed only 5 years ago. It is in excellent
condition and I have no reason not to believe him. I just want to be
sure of it's age before I waste my time and money installing it. I
have been reading thru a lot of posts trying to find info on a Thermal
Zone. I have not found much. Is this because it is so old they do not
make them any more? Is there a way that you can tell the age of the
unit by it's serial #. Also I was wondering if the coil and condenser
are matched correctly. From the posts that I have read it looks like
you guys (and Girls) no your stuff! Could someone please help me out
and give me some answers or at least an opinion. Do you think it's
worth the time and money installing this equipment. I only paid
$150.00 for everything. I'm a union Sheet Metal Worker and can install
everything myself. The only thing I will need to pay for is the line
set, electrical supplies such as 220 line, seal-tight, and disconnect
box. I might buy a pad too if I feel lazy and it's cheap enough. LOL!
What do you suggest I use for wire? I was going to use 10/2 but a
"Sparky" friend of mine told me to use #8. I will also need to have
someone evacuate the system and charge it for me, thanks to my
neighbor who cut the lines and let all the CFC's out. Our ozone thanks
him! :( He did not want to pay for someone to recover the gas. I have
no gauges or vaccume pump or access to the R-22 needed to fill it.
Does anyone know how much it will take to fill this system, and a
round about figure for someone to pump it down and charge it? One last
question: Is there a way to test these pieces to make sure that they
work, BEFORE I install them?
Thanks for the help
I-Wonder

        OK, if you insist -

You're a cheap-assed fuckin union hack, who is determined to
take some used piece of bullshit and do a half-assed job of installing
it. It will be a fucking miracle if you don't get someone hurt.

I suggest sticking a nice # 6 ground rod up your ass.

Test them with the ground rod. Shove 'em right up there.

        No problem.

What's up with all you FUCKING SCABS! Can't you find another SCAB to
pick on! All I asked for was some friendly advice! You act like I'm
the plague. What are you afraid of! Oh I know, It's my 5 years of
expert training plus 15 years of commercial job experience. VS. your
PIDDLY ASS residential installs that a FUCKING MORON could do with a
few hours of training. You SACBS couldn't Layout a fitting (or a piece
of duct for that matter) if your life depended on it! I have been on
many jobs where we had to totally rip out what you SCABS put in
because it would not pass inspection. You DUMB FUCKS can't even read a
print (PRINT, yea that's what I said. Have you ever heard of one of
those) You know that bunch of papers you look at to see where the duct
goes. I'd like to see one of you SCABS take a print, make a cut sheet
for all the fittings and duct for a 8 story high rise. Then size it
all, lay it out, make it, and install it! Now if there are any adults
out there who are not afraid of me coming to take your job from you,
please kindly answer my question.
I only claim to be an expert in Sheet Metal. Not Every trade, like you
FUCKING SCABS
You no what they say JACK OFF OF ALL TRADES, MASTER OF NONE!
Have a Nice Day JACK OFFS!
