Just wondering if anyone had the setting for the nozzle setback.The
data tag doesn't show anything beside the electrode and size
selection..the burner has 6600320 as a model.thanks

Heres a clue junior. You can set your burner up to exactly what specs
it needs from new and it may never ignite or it may never burn
properly. Those numbers (for the most part) dont mean chit unless you
are doing this in a controlled environment (Labratory). As soon as you
hook it up to your chimney it is completly different. Thats why they
make combustion efficiency instruments.

I have a book that has a brazillion different ones listed but the best
thing you can do is call a qualified oil burner serviceman and have him
set it up.

thanks,there isn't anyone within 3 hrs drive of our place,so I'll have
to look at taking it top somewhere in the new year

In that case it will probably cost you 8 hours labor plus a truck
charge and around 50-100 dollars in parts. On the bright side you
should get the maximum efficency and reliabilty out of it.
There is much more to setting up a burner than adjusting the electrodes
for a specific spray pattern. There has to be the proper amount of
voltage present which can be in excess of 10,000vdc, a properly
atomized fuel delivered at 100psi, the primary and secondary air must
be set precisely, and further, the draft has to be set. All of these
items are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg and require accurate
measurements with specialized equipment.
The measurements require the knowledge to annalize and make
corrections. Its not something the average untrained and ill equipped
person can do and expect good results. The likely result is something
from to a repeated nuisance trip to a whole house fire. The desired
result is 10-12% co2 and 0 to 1 trace smoke. The smoke is the key but
that is a different topic.
Bottom line is yeah, its going to cost you because youre in the boonies
but its money well spent as long as you get a good tech. Its depends
on how much value you place on safety, security and comfort.
