I am in the US Army stationed overseas. We are able to watch Good
Morning America here. During commercial breaks, ABC News headlines are
scrolled from bottom to top of the screen. while watching on Dec 13th,
in two different topics the President was referred to as "Mr Bush".
What is the reason for this disrespect? Wether one likes our president,
or dislikes him is completely irrelevant. He is still the President.
Show respect for the position! This is a first and an absolute low for
ABC News. ABC would never refer to the President of North Korea as Mr
Kim Il-Sun, or the President of Iran as Mr Ahmadinejad. Why would ABC
ever even think to refer to our president as Mr Bush? Does ABC News
have more respect for NK and Iran that the US? They dont refer to
doctors or professors or policeman as "Mr". Why do this to the
President of the US unless they have nothing but utter contempt for the
POSITION of the President.

I posted this on the ABC News Message Board. It will be interesting to
see if/how they will respond. I bet they dont. I understand bias in the
media, but this is way too far for me.

What do you think? Do you think I am over reacting?

You're right, it off topic.
I think you're also right that the press doesn't like Pres. W-Bush
very much.

He's a Republican. ABC hates all Republicans. Well, they like McCain
because he helped overturn part of the Constitution and increased the
media's power via the McCain-Feingold bill. But then McCain is a
wannabe Democrat.

First off, the first time they use the title, after that they always
address them as Mr. __________.

Thus far, no one has said anything that shows me they deserve my vote
for president in 2008.
I am not easy to please, so far none appear wise enough to act as
Commander In Chief!
So far, Senator BARACK OBAMA is mostly style & scant little substance.
Thus far, Mr. OBAMA is recycling the late President John Kennedy's
campaign messages.
Senator McCain shot his wad when he ran against Bush before the Party
picked Bush for President. - udarrell

I noticed this many years back but found out that it is proper to call the
President Mr... However, IMHO, it does sound disrespectful and I never did
like it. Even for the presidents that I did not vote for...
