I'll be working in Raleigh next week!!! Where are the good
Barbeque joints in town. Maybe a cold one is in order.

        Hey, Barry -

Maybe we can figure out a plan - drop me an email with your
schedule, etc.

BTW - fair warning - here in Raleigh 'BBQ' means VINEGAR BBQ !
Forget about Texas BBQ ( best in the world ) or Kansas City BBQ (
second best ) - they don't use tomato-based sauce here, it's vinegar
based. The first time I had it, I thought they served me some meat
that had turned.

I was going to say this is 'the classic Raleigh BBQ place'

http://hkentcraig.com/BBQ14.html

unitl I read this "As of February 2007, after three decades in
business, Don Murray's Barbecue on Capitol Blvd. in Raleigh which was
one of the three places co-reviewed in this original version of this
review, went out of business."

Oh, well - I used to do their refrigeration, and I remember
gagging every time I walked out back, and the outside walk-in where if
you pushed the wall a bit you saw daylight in 13 places. He was lucky
to get that thing below 50 on a hot day. He drove it with an antique
3 ton compressor, when it needed more like 10. No, I never ate their
food ( not even for free ), and wasn't going to send you there :-)

Here, you see 'NC style BBQ'. Pulled-pork vinegar-cooked. The brown
things are called 'taters', BTW :-)

as opposed to here

http://hkentcraig.com/BBQ.html

where the brown things are called 'hush puppies', and have no potato
content at all ( deep fried corn meal, not shoes )
