My phone has been ringing off the hook all morning, but everybody wants
free, or at least cheap. One call was from a woman that had "Bubba" put in a
new system...ductwork and all for less than I would do a straight change-out
for... its never worked right, its less than 3 years old, and has the
compressor replaced, and a bunch of other stuff replaced.... now she is not
happy and still won't pay to get it done right.
Lots of others wanting a "new unit" and won't understand that I can't do
that without replacing the whole system....most still think they can get a
new system installed for 3 grand, and almost drop the phone when they get
told that its gonna be twice to 3 times that.
Sorry for the rant... just been onna phone all morning with a bunch of cheap
bastards.

I hope all this doesnt keep up. I had a lady call me last week wanting
a "Free Estimate"?? I could tell by her tone that she was wanting a
Free Estimate on a repair. I told her I do Free Estimates on new
equipment installation (which I think still sucks). I dont do Free
Estimates on repairs. She asked what I charge an hour. I told her I
dont charge by the hour. I charge a Diagnostic Fee and then tell them
what if will cost to do the complete repair whether it takes 1 hr or 4
hrs. She seemed pleased that she didnt have to worry how long it would
take and how much the "suprise" would then cost her. She said she
would call back in a little bit.
She called back about an hour later, told me she had called me earlier
and again asked me if I give Free Estimates?????? I told her no and
she hung up...........hehe
Wouldnt that be fun if work got that slow that we started driving to
jobs for free , gave out free estimates and waited around till Mrs
Homeowner called back so we could fix her clogged condensate? hehehe
Ok, Im dont, Ranting over.
