I tried to reply to this question a while back in one of the threads but my
Out...Ex... never sent it.
I'm in Myrtle Beach, SC & there are a lot of rough in subs here.
For me being a small business it works out great, I just pay per ton.
It frees me up for service.
Ayone else do it that way?

The only thing I sub out is running new power from the distribution panel,
and the ductwork.

In a way, I service the installation company's stuff when they call. I am
a service only guy myself. I do a lot
of calls where others weren't able to repair. I just got in from a job that had
2 techs(???) look at the equipment
before me. It was a shorted out 18-10 stat wire. 1 good wire out of ten.
Trans protected by a 5 amp automotive fuse,
but they still fried two trans formers, a 30 amp automotive fuse installed
instead. The installer couldn't believe it,
30 mins to diag problems. Other techs spent hours on it. Not tooting my horn
hear but am wondering who's out there
doing service work. Sorry for the monologue. back to the point, I refer
customers to installers I have some faith in
to do a decent job. No referal comissions or any of that, just service. I have
found the commercial service to be
allot more profitable and less of a HO headache... But it's hard to say no to
elderly people who are struggling.
