I live in Florida, very high humidity. I purchased a Kenmore dehumidifier a
couple
of years ago. When I have the humidity lowered the house is much more
comfortable even when the temperature is 6 degrees higher.
The drawback of the stand alone dehumidifier is that it heats up the area
where it
sits, and is a bit noisy.
Obviously I run the air conditioner, but it doesn't reduce the humidity
enough to make it comfortable unless the temperature is down to 73 degrees.
What are the options for dehumidifying a house?
Mike

        A 10K - 12K window unit with a low speed fan setting ( or a
dehumidify setting, which is also a lower fan speed ). It will
dehumidify very well, and dump the waste heat outside, not inside.

Have a properly sized air conditioner installed!

There is couple things you can do with what you have first you most
disregard lot of tech's in this group
if you can reduce speed of the circulation fan in your air handler of AC
will help you reduce humidity,
second you can also try blocking small portion of cooling coil so that it
limit some of air flow that will also
do the same thing as reducing speed of motor in your air handler, just
remember that both of this configuration
will reduce efficiency of your AC system also be ware of that you might get
some condensation in places that
you do not want so you will need to do little experiment on you own other
wise? you can get good qualified tech.
and change you AC system or add dehumidify coil into duct work with remote
condenser.
Not from HVAC person but from environmental test equipment tech. Tony

LIke you, asshole. 'new jersey' ' tony' old grumpy'
'farthead' or whatever nym you're using today.

No, he can't. A tech MIGHT, he's not a tech.

Idiot - his chances of doign that so that it's both effective
and safe for the equipment are nil. He'll freeze the coil.
