It's one of those things that's extremely basic, yet I have seen a wide
amount of variation on techniques, products and greases used, etc. I've
worked with three different techs in the last couple of months and each one
had their own products and methods of applying them, etc.
Just wondering if there will be a lot of variation in the replies here or
not! :)

Most of the new motors don't have oil ports on them. for the rest, Zoom
spout oilers work well.

Yeah, that's what I've always used (of course only on motors with oil
ports), one guy actually takes *some* models apart and uses what he thinks
is a high quality grease on all parts, even the core! Another guy uses a
grease gun with a needle attachment and electric motor bearing grease (Mobil
Pyrex). He swears it's longer lasting than the zoom spouts, because
homeowners don't typically call every year like they shoot to get a checkup
which includes blower wheel motor lubrication.
Thought he was kinda nuts. :)

I apologize to everyone; it was my understanding that this was a group for
discussion amongst HVAC professionals. However, it appears to be more of a
circle-jerk place where regulars post and reply just to hear themselves talk
and to belittle others.
Please forgive my mistake, I'm out.
