I have an old forced air natural gas home heater. THe fan will run
continually. If I gently tap the meatl housing near the fan limit
switch the blower shuts off. Is the fan limit getting stuck?

Dunno without seeing it.... How old is your Jurrasic furnace?? When was the
last time it was serviced by a competent, licensed tech??

Uh huh...... and just how long do you think they are supposed to last??
Nope, the answer is not "forever".

The fan is probably controlled by a relay on a control board. That
would be the first place to look for sticking. The contacts gets rough
and stick together. You need some electrical troubleshooting skills, a
multimeter, and the wiring diagram specific to your furnace to get
started. If you do not already have pretty good electrical
troubleshooting skills, your gas furnace is not the place to start
getting them. Call a service guy.
