furnace id: ACI

I have an ACI (Air Comfort Inc.) gas furnace that I would like to get more information on and locate a local HVAC rep. for maintance on but I am not finding any information about the company at all.

All I have to go on is what is on the front of the furnace. ACI - Air Comfort Inc. Answer 80

There is nothing inside the mechanical or electrical panels that note any more information, other than the electrical schematics.

Would anybody have any information about this company?

Thank and Happy Holidays Jonny

Call your local *competent* HVAC tech, and he can locate the model and serial numbers on the data plate.

The 80 probably means it's an 80% efficiency furnace and any local hvac company will be able to help you. Best bet is to ask local friends and neighbors for recomendations they have had good results with.

I'd think more likely 80,000 BTU.

: Realize that your request is over a year-old, but I am wondering if you ever got any answers to your question-as we have the same unit and cannot seem to find a circuit board replacement?

A couple things for you to remember;

Maybe this manufacturer never existed. Unscrupulous douchbag dealers have been known to create really nice nameplates and then replace to OEM plate or cover it up for job security. Not ethical, and probably not really legal either.

That being said, the front cover is'nt really the best place to look for furnace information. Take the top cover (burner cover) off and then look for the furnace rating plate inside the vestibule, either to the side or on the blower deck, which may be heavily covered with dust. This plate simply must exist, otherwise you have yourself a stolen or warranteed changeout that should have been destroyed. And there should be some evidence that the plate did exist regardless. All important information should be there, such as model and serial #'s, input, max temp, and temp rise, as well as other important information for the installers and techs.

Now, about the board. Most furnace companies, and certainly the little penny-ante start-ups are not in the control making business. Why not look for manufacturer and part number of the board on the board itself. Call around to your local dealers or Google that information, and maybe all will be revealed.

Of course, it may pay off to just get someone out. The price of a service call may be small potatoes comparitively.

Good info and advice and thanks esp since as a heads up it appears the offending company appears to perhaps be at or near to the Portland OR area--IF I find they are also billing via a flat rate schedule then I will consider adding meta tags to my site so as to redirect their internet traffic.

THx again
