Hi:

Will a APRILAIRE MODEL 8353 thermostat (http://www.smarthomeusa.com/
Common/aprilaire/manuals/pt_8353.pdf) replace my existing Rheem
LR-1620 (class 2, 30V max) thermostat?

I'm just looking for an inexpensive replacement for the LR-1620 that
will give me schedule capability.

thanks,
russ

It will replace it, but why would you want to replace the old one with
another one that is not made by somebody that doesn't specialize in
controls?? You can get cheaper ones from a big box store. You can get much
better from your HVAC professional.
I recommend the Honeywell TH8321U1006 with built in humidity controls and a
5 year warranty.

How is it that Aprilaire controls can control 24 10 ton package heat
pumps with a web enabled interface and communicating thermostats, and
honeywell cannot?

how is it that Aprilaire thermostats can have 1000' feet betwen a
thermostat and a remote sensor, and for everybody else the max
distance is 300'?

Suggest you look into an Aprilaire 8870 communicating thermostat &
System Controller 8825. :)

My existing (old ) LR-1620 has wires and designations that don't match
the new Aprilaire 8353 I want to install. Here is a link to my page
with 4 pictures of the existing LR-1620 in my house:
http://webpages.charter.net/rwpatterson357/temp/ The picture
"table.jpg" is from the 8353 instruction manual and is supposed to
tell me how to match up my existing wiring to what the 8353 needs.
Can anyone tell me how my existing wires match up to what the 8353
needs?

thanks,
russ
