For a sears kenmore room window air conditioner 7000btu
what could cause the condenser motor to shut off for a bit,
then restart and repeat that periodically?... in this
99 degree 44% humidity 73 degree dew point weather in
Massachusetts USA.

The condenser motor did not turn off for a bit, restart and
repeat it periodically this past week but it did do it on that
other very hot day the previous week.

You get what you pay for. Maybe if you went with a slightly better
piece of equipment you wouldn't be having these questions.
