So far I have been able to keep most of the spiders/bugs out of the
house. But they seem to be winning the war. I have tried sprays and
granular from places like Home Depot.

What is the best thing for spreading around outside the house and
garage? I don't have any pets or kids. What do professionals use?

I spray Trizaiacide around the foundation every spring and a couple
times during the summer. Seems to work quite well. Keep your cellar
CLEAN. Keep food particles off the floor. Eliminate places they like to
live with foam insulation. I had to foam my foundation between it and
the sill because there was a space for bugs to enter. If you have
rotting cellar window frames, replace them with vinyl replacements.
My problem now is where in hell are the flies coming in from? Every time
we get a warm day a couple flies come in from somewhere and it's not my
new vinyl windows.

Killing the spiders is most of your problem right there. The rest of it is
eliminating the food source(s) for the other bugs.

Where do you live? In the desert here I use Sevn Dust and/or Boric
Acid powder.

It helps control Black Widows (huge ones).
