Do you have air conditioning? Not only would that cool the drier below the
dew point on a humid day but it could cause a negative pressure in the house
that would derw outside air into the drier and since anything colder than
the dew point will collect condensation it gets wet.
In any case it shouldn't be a problem since driers are made to manage
moisture in clothing. you can always run it for a few minutes to dry it
off.
Check that the flapper valve in the drier vent is not stuck open because of
lint or something. This should prevent air from coming back into the house
through the vent. If the A/C is causing negative pressure, you may need to
rebalance some vents so that no outside air is coming in.
