I started to remodel my small 870 square foot house in 1994. I wanted
to slightly increase the size of the home to make it a about 1400 Sq
ft. Replace the windows, doors, new siding, new wiring, new cabinets,
some flooring and painting. The job was supposed to cost around
$32,000. I started to build the addition, and halfway thru the job I
decided to add more. First it was another 1000 sq ft, then another
60,000, and eventually the house would have been a total of 240,000 sq
ft. I made the foundation and found myself in deep debt. There was
no money left to complete the job. Now I have a 870 Sq Ft house on a
240,000 sq ft foundation. I will need $750 Billion to complete the
job. I expect the government to give me this money and be paid by
taxpayers,

oh you were supposed to make some bad decisions that first led to
record profits, paid you millions in bonuses before the deal collapsed
and now everyone else must bail you out

And just how will *YOUR* home, on *YOUR* foundation, on *YOUR* land
directly effect the lives of some 300 million other people, and their
banks and 401K accounts? And don't forget to tie it into foreign
investors (read oil money enriched aristocrats.)

If, however, you were building several low-income housing projects
specifically aimed at single-parent families who find themselves (and
their children) homeless due to foreclosure, divorce, and having lost
jobs due to overseas workforce competition..... Well, now,.. in that case
we may have a dozen or so politicians waiting in line to help you through
your credit crunch. Earmarks I think they call it. And when you go to
Washington DC, don't forget the photo of the young child with rib bones
protruding, crying while holding an empty soup bowel; good for the media
and cable TV news shows.

Kinda greedy, aren't you? Even Wall Street is asking for ONLY $700
billion. What are you going to do with the extra $50 billion.

Suggestion. You could always use the $50 billion to invade the guy down
the street.
