OK..... thought experiment

You are looking at buying a river camp.

Camp itself is pretty rough on side but structure is
sound

Instead of doing the usual remodeling inside....adding
more wire runs.... lights ...etc

What abt building internal 'skeleton" INSIDE the room
such that you could hang lights form it..... hang
suspended porch swings...... basically anything you'd
like

Can this be done?

If yes.... what could one use for the "skeleton" that
was strong enough to support weight but also easily
disassembled and moved in case of flood?

removable during flood? how will you know flooding is coming while
having time to remove your skelton?

if the structure is basically good how has it survived flooding all
these years?

so your thinking of buying a camp with a basically good structure that
floods from time to time?

if you have some high ground move the camp or buy a trailer moving it
to high ground when not in use or during flood prone times?

jack up the building so the top floor wouldnt flood, use lower level
for storage at flood free times?

you can install wiring and such that removable but where will you store
the parts?

Scaffolding?

Not a particularly good idea, though. Just
build out of something that doesn't mind getting wet.

I don't get the idea. If the skeleton is just for hanging lighting, etc,
you are still going to have to remove all of the misc from the skeleton so
that you can remove the skeleton. Jeesh, I'm tired just thining about it!
It's a cabin, for heaven sakes. Part of the beauty is the rustic nature. I
just 'built' a cabin using a new double wide and it just isn't the same.
The new codes and costs in general made this the better way to go for my
needs.
