probably a hose filling a swimming pool with no backflow preventer.

while the pool or whatever was filling the water service failed and the
contaminated pool water got sucked back into the fresh water supply
system.

thats why homes and businesses are being upgraded to check valves,
people can get really sick..........

I am on septic not town water though, only issue for me is giving the
gas the option of going through to the roof. And of course a trap on
jacuzzi.

I can see it all though, its on the main floor and theres drop ceiling
in the basement below, so theres no issue with hidden piping.

Though my well water is clean, I do have to set that water softener
kinda high, so for drinking I just use those 5 gallon water cooler
tanks.

But im sure the cost of fixing the other issues would be half the bill
of running return air all around the house to the sinks, jacuzzi and
out to the washer.

Fixing the rest is something to worry about later prior to selling.
