You have a point, but all advocacy groups have that problem.
Keep in mind that the vast majority of Linux users don't even
read Usenet or know of its existence, much less post to it on a
regular basis. Extrapolating anything meaningful from the tiny
percentage of people that participate in Usenet is meaningless
and a waste of time.

"Go berzerk"?? You have a less than learned use of that term if
you think complaining in writing meets that definition.

I have never heard anyone postulate such a thing, not even once,
since you don't seem to be supporting it either.

Feel free to unsubscribe from all the Linux newsgroups you
crossposted this to then.

BTW, you (and by extension all Windows fans) should be deeply
appreciative for competing products such as Linux, OS X,
FreeBSD, Solaris, etc. Why? Because competition drives product
improvements. Microsoft is peddling much faster than normal
these days on the OS front trying to keep up with features,
security and stability due to competing products eating into (at
whatever rate, as long as its non-zero it's acting in your
favor) MS market share.

Competition is good. You benefit from it, regardless of what
operating system you favor.

Any suggestion as to just what linux feature(s) Windows is peddling faster
to keep up with?

Secure TCP/IP.

Security in general. Windows is insecure by design.
