Poulan much better than remington, whos plastic case breaks during
use:(

I have 2 poulans bought at flea markets for 10 bucks each.

Have 3 electric chain saws, hit a nail or have a problem I swap saws
and keep working, take care of repairs later:)

None of the electrics I have used are as powerful as the gas ones, but
they sure beat all the problems the gas ones cause. In fact I got so
fed up with the gas ones never starting or killing that I took them
all to an auction and dumped them. I only use electric ones now, but
I have seriously considered putting a 1/2 horse motor on one of them
so I got power. A word of caution, NEVER overload an electric
chainsaw, or the motor goes up in smoke. I have burned up several of
them.

most today have overheat protection, I have stalled electric chainsaws,
they usually stop and dont burn. yours may have been defective

I gave my dad a Remington some years back. He can't pull start a gas saw,
much less drag one around. He loves it. I'm sure it's only good for light
weight cutting though
