I hope you stop using gmail for news groups.

Is this something other than the From: header in the post?

You shouldn't put a real email address in a newsgroup post because the
spammers look there for new spam targets, but not using google for news
groups is more than that. It means learning how to connect to the news
groups with a newsreader program. I prefer XNEWS, which is free. You
have to learn to set it up, but that's not too hard, or maybe you know
someone who knows how to do it for you. I guess Google makes an easy
way to get into newsgroups, but they don't block spam (BAD GOOGLE!
BAD!)

I am currently filtering on "From" and you are "from" yahoo

People who are filtering "Message ID" will only see your posts to the
extent someone answers it. People are really pissed off at google (your
source) for allowing spammers "(BAD GOOGLE! BAD!)"

-----------------------
Can you put holes in a "message ID" filter for specific users?

Not just a program. You need a news-source to get away from
googlegroups. Comes with XNEWS?

(My source is my isp using TBird as the program."

Google groups may be easy in some ways but what an awful newsreader.

GG isn't a newsreader, it is a web-based access to what has been on usenent.
It is more of an instantaneous archive.
