It would be great if you could write back and let us know what you
found out with your wood stove?????? We are just trying to be helpful
and to do what we can to help solve your problem.......

Steve - open the flue all the way up when you start a fire so that you
have the best possible draft to suck that smoke out, after everything
is hot you can back it down some. is your russo stove in a fireplace
with a flue? see if you can get a manual on that stove from:

If unsure of its history, I suggest having a certified chimney sweep do a
safety inspection. Look on this industry site for a list:
http://www.CSIA.org.

The blower may have a snap switch (thermostat) so it only comes on when up
to temperature, so it does not blow cold air.

Smoke into the room could be a flue that needs to be preheated, or a clogged
rain cap mesh.

I was wondering the same thing... Does anyone have any information on
the Russo Glass-View Wood Burning stove? I bought one from someone
and nobody knows where to order parts or where to get information on
this stove. The stove was manufactured in the 70's but it looks new!
I need a blower for the stove. Any help on locating information on
this brand of stove??

I have a Russo Wood/Coal combination stove that I purchased in about
1983, I have used it every winter since then. I burned coal in it for
many years - too awhile to get the hang of that - but feeding your
stove only 2 times in a 24 hour period is great. OK - information for
you. The Russo Stive was manufactured by :
Russo Manufacturing Corp.
87 Warren Street,

I don't believe that they are in business anymore by that name - They
are now:

I don't think that they are manufacturing those stoves anymore, but
parts are available. I have a 28 page manual for mine that is quite
extensive and if you contact me I can get you a copy.

The problem mentioned with smoke in the house - I wouldn't pretend to
be an expert, make sure that the stove it hot - I rarely have this
problem with my Russo but do have it with another stove in my
basement, need to get that draft going by having the thing hot enough
to suck out that smoke. The fan blowing is controlled by a
thermostat so it doesn't blow cold air, get the stove hot and it it
works it will turn on, assuming that the switch is on to provide power
to the blower motor.
