I tried it once on latex, ruined the piece. My media blaster was to
powerful. Which I was really surprised about considering the size of my
compressor.
If this is really want you want to do contact some local media blasting
folks and see what they would do. Your still going to have to remove all of
the wood anyway. You will not be able to do this in place.
If your really interested in preservation then a heat gun and lots of time
is probably the ticket.
Sorry quick and better do not go hand and hand with paint removal. Remember
the paint back then was lead based... Prepare accordingly.
