This walkway blacktop is in new condition and level.Can slate be installed
over this and how?Thanks for the help.

I don't think I would want to do that.

* It may be flat today but what about two years from now?
* You should have good drainage under the slate, blacktop is not good
drainage.
* You need a good base for the slate. That means an addition level over
the blacktop. That could be much higher than you want.

Even if you could do it, why not wait until the blacktop looks old.

Well it's a new house with a 150' driveway and a continuos path to the front
porch.It would look much better if the 12' walk branch was something other
than the blacktop.Just trying having not to remove 3"of material to get rid
of.
