Remembered the device for combating squirrels stealing bird seed. Look
for Yankee Flipper, video puts it in context, hilarious!

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f5d_1172741350 is NOT the Flipper but
is similar in action. I thought a google search on Yankee Flipper
would be enough of a nudge.
