I need to paint my house but I see so many paints that claim they are
the best. What is a good exterior paint that does not cost a arm and a
leg. Also what is the best primer to use, I have heard the term "milk
paint" what does that mean ?

Years ago, colonial times, milk based paint was popular. Today it is copied
in modern materials.

I've use Pittsburgh Paints and Benjamin Moore with excellent results. I'm
in the process of painting over shutter that I did with Pittsburgh about 12
+ years ago. If it was not for the want of a color change, I could have
just left them. Not a crack or peel anywhere, not enough fade to be
concerned about.

I agree about the Pittsburgh paints. Their "Manor Hall" top of the
line exterior can't be beat. It's on sale allot. It's comparable to
that Sherwin Williams lifetime guarantee stuff that never goes on
sale. I hate the Steelers, but I still use the paint.

Milk paint is available today from at least one site on line.

The last one In retrospect dumping the salt OUT OF the bags into wheel
barrow ( clean) spreading around the pool with shovel might of been a better
idea, to bad I didn't think of that.
