Whirlpool Refridgerator dispenser water strange taste and odour after replaceing filter

I have a Whirlpool Gold (Year 2000 Whirlpool Refrigerator GD25SFXHS02)
side by side, however the water coming from the dispenser has a strange
taste and odour to it. No white particles noticed. No leaks on the
floor.
This odour/taste is not seen in the direct water coming from the
Faucet.
Is there anything that can be done DIY?

Ever change the filter on it?

Yes the filter is changed recently.
